Leonida map vs Vice City island board
When to use the wider Leonida map versus the gold Vice City island view — plus how /map2 and /companion fit — without treating either board as official Rockstar geography.
Two jobs, two boards
People search “GTA 6 map” and “Vice City map” as if they were one screenshot. On 305 HQ they are related views of the same idea, not duplicates and not a secret third atlas hiding better pins.
/map is the wider Leonida interactive set these district guides are written from: beaches, downtown Vice City, Port Gellhorn, Key Lento, Hamlet, and the counties between them. /island is the gold studio board — the shaped ATLAS silhouette you see in marketing and on the homepage hero.
Neither board is an official Rockstar Games map. Pins are real Florida landmarks under fan district names. None of them replaces the in-game pause map after November 19, 2026.
If you only remember one rule: Leonida answers “how far apart are these places,” and the island answers “show me the gold studio shape.” Mixing those jobs is how people bounce between tabs and decide the map is broken when they only opened the wrong board.
When the Leonida map is the right board
Open /map when you are comparing areas that sit far apart. A gulf city versus a Keys strip, Hamlet versus downtown, an airport label versus a beach — those jumps are why the wide board exists.
District counts, isolate, closest path, and the sample lists in the district directory all assume this Leonida set. If you are trying to learn “where is Port Gellhorn relative to Ocean Beach,” start here. The island silhouette will not teach that distance.
Search and filters matter more on the wide board because the pin set is large. Isolate one zone before you plot a route. A path across every remaining Leonida pin is honest and unusable.
District guides, the directory, and the sample lists all assume you can jump from a name to this board. If a creator links Port Gellhorn and you land on /island, you will see theater lighting and miss the gulf distance the article was written about. Open /map first, then visit the island if you want the silhouette.
When the island board is the right board
Open /island when you want the cinematic gold studio map: a focused pass over the core island shape, spoiler-masked solution cards, and the theater for props you build in Assets Generator.
Placed GLB props appear here as pins with a 3D popup in this browser. They do not appear as in-game objects, and they do not sit on the wider Leonida board as meshes. That limit is written on the placement dialog for a reason.
Spoiler-masked cards stay blurred until Reveal. If you are streaming and still avoiding answers, stay on the island and leave cards closed. The wider Leonida board leans on landmark descriptions and found-state without pretending every pin is a puzzle card.
What /map2 and /companion are
/map2 is a related interactive board in the same family — useful if you are comparing UI variants, not a hidden dataset with official loot. Treat it as another companion surface, not as “the real map.”
/companion is the marketing and early-access page: Scout and Pro language, waitlist energy, the product door. It is not a second atlas with different truth. If a link sends you to companion first, continue into /map or /island when you want to pan.
Founders who saw “Map Companion” on the homepage are looking at the same idea sold in edition language. The live boards you actually pan are /map, /island, and /map2.
If a waitlist email sends you to /companion after a tool update, read the pitch, then click through to the board you already rehearsed. The marketing page will not show new pins that the interactive map does not have. There is no secret atlas behind the paywall language.
Shared honesty across views
Found marks and filters follow the companion idea across boards. A mark is yours, stored on the device, optionally synced when you sign in. Clearing site data can wipe local progress.
Every board is fan-made. Pins are real Florida references. Completion meters mean “of the companion set.” Closest path is a landmark planner, not Rockstar pathing.
Wallpapers, Creator Studio, and Assets are separate tools. Do not expect the island board to export a YouTube thumbnail or a phone wallpaper crop — those have their own pages and their own aspect ratios.
A simple picker
Learning counties, Keys, and gulf cities: /map. Showing the marketing silhouette or placing an Assets prop: /island. Comparing a second interactive layout: /map2. Reading the pitch: /companion.
If you only have time for one rehearsal before launch, open /map, isolate Ocean Beach or Downtown, mark one pin, and leave. That is enough to know which board you will come back to on November 19.
Creators should pick one board per video. A cut that jumps from the gold silhouette to the wide Leonida scan without saying so looks like two different products. Say the URL on camera: “this is the Leonida companion” or “this is the island theater.” Viewers can follow a sentence. They cannot follow a silent tab switch.

It is the cinematic studio board. /map is the wider Leonida set used for most district writing. Both are real product surfaces. Neither is official Rockstar geography.
