GTA 6 Pre-Order Bonus: How to Claim Your Free Month of GTA+

Pre-orders and digital purchases of Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation Store come with one month of GTA+ at no extra cost. This guide covers who qualifies, how to claim the month, the deadlines, how stacking works, and what GTA+ costs once the free month ends. Every fact comes from PlayStation's US support page for the offer and the US PlayStation Store GTA+ page.

How to claim

PlayStation's support page describes the steps like this:

  • Step 1: Pre-order or buy the digital Standard or Ultimate Edition of GTA VI on PlayStation Store, on or before November 19, 2026.
  • Step 2: Look for the confirmation email. It includes the instructions for redeeming GTA+.
  • Step 3: Go to the GTA+ product page on PlayStation Store.
  • Step 4: Follow the on-screen steps to complete the transaction at no extra cost.
  • Step 5: Note the date shown on screen when the free month turns into a paid subscription.

The steps must be completed by March 31, 2027. You can pick when to claim it, as long as it is before that date.

Stacking and limits

New, lapsed and existing GTA+ subscribers can all claim the free month. If you already subscribe, the month is added to your current subscription. PlayStation's support page points out that stacking is normally not supported for GTA+ on PlayStation Store, so this offer is an exception.

  • One redemption per account, whatever you buy later.
  • The free month can't be transferred. It can only be claimed on the account used for the pre-order or purchase.
  • Buying the Ultimate Edition Upgrade add-on on its own does not qualify.
  • You also need to meet the age requirements for both GTA VI and GTA+.

What it costs after the free month

When the free month ends, GTA+ continues at the regular monthly price until you cancel. On the US PlayStation Store, GTA+ is listed at $7.99 a month. Prices in other countries are set on each country's store, and this guide does not list them.

To stop the paid subscription, cancel in Subscriptions Management in your account settings before the next payment date. The date the paid subscription starts is shown on screen when you claim.

Who is not eligible

  • Players on the PlayStation stores for Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the Russian Federation. The offer covers all other PlayStation country stores.
  • Anyone who only buys the Ultimate Edition Upgrade add-on.
  • Orders made after November 19, 2026.
  • Claims made after March 31, 2027.
  • A second claim on an account that has already redeemed the offer.

These are the terms on PlayStation's US support page. Terms pages for other regions may differ, so check the PlayStation support site for your country. This guide covers PlayStation only: Rockstar has not published an equivalent offer page for Xbox, so this guide does not say whether a similar Xbox offer exists.

PS5 and PS5 Pro only

The same PlayStation page notes that GTA VI releases on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and PS5 Pro. It will not be playable on PS4.

Do I get the free month if I already have GTA+?

Yes. Existing subscribers can claim it, and the month is added to their current subscription. PlayStation's page notes that stacking is normally not supported for GTA+ on PlayStation Store.

When do I have to claim it?

The game has to be pre-ordered or bought on or before November 19, 2026, and the free month has to be claimed by March 31, 2027.

Does the Ultimate Edition Upgrade count?

No. Buying the Ultimate Edition Upgrade add-on on its own does not qualify. The offer is for the digital Standard or Ultimate Edition of the game.

Will I be charged after the free month?

Yes, unless you cancel. The subscription continues at the regular monthly price, listed at $7.99 a month on the US PlayStation Store. Cancel in Subscriptions Management before the next payment date.

Can I give the free month to another account?

No. It can't be transferred, and it can only be claimed on the account that pre-ordered or bought the game.
