GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Every Confirmed Detail
Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, five weeks before the game comes out. This guide covers what Rockstar and PlayStation have confirmed about it. It does not guess at scenes or repeat leaks. If something isn't confirmed, we say so.
305 HQ is a fan-made toolkit. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, and it does not sell the game.

The song: Flower in a Hurricane
The big news in the trailer is the music. Rockstar's launch trailer page says it debuts "Flower in a Hurricane", credited to Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
The YouTube description adds two things. Justice are the composers of the game's original score. And the single is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.
Rockstar has not said which radio station, if any, will play the song in the game. For what Rockstar has said about stations and licensed music, see the radio and soundtrack guide.
What the trailer says
Rockstar's YouTube upload has official English captions. Three lines stand out, and they are quoted here exactly as the captions give them.
- 0:02: "I got in some trouble in the Army. Didn't leave on the best of terms. They don't give loans or, anything, to people like me."
- 0:10: "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos."
- 1:02: "Are we gonna be okay? We've stuck together through everything. Just gotta get through it."
The captions do not say who is speaking in the first and third lines. The Army line fits Rockstar's profile of Jason Duval, which says that after "a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens" he ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners. But the trailer itself does not put a name to the voice, so we don't either.
The second line names Lucia directly. Rockstar's profile says Lucia ended up in the Leonida Penitentiary, and Trailer 2 showed Jason collecting her when she got out. The Launch Trailer does not say when the call happens in the story.
For everything Rockstar has said about the two leads, see the Jason and Lucia guide.
Plays Best On PS5
Rockstar's launch trailer page carries a "Plays Best On PS5" tag, and the trailer was captured on a PS5. That is a marketing deal with PlayStation. It does not mean the game skips Xbox: Rockstar still lists Xbox Series X|S for November 19.
PlayStation's GTA VI features page lists what it says the PS5 version offers:
- Tempest 3D AudioTech.
- Fast loading from the PS5's SSD.
- DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, plus use of the controller's built-in speaker.
- PS5 Pro Enhanced, for owners of a PS5 Pro.
- Remote Play.
More detail is in the PS5 features guide.
The ESRB rating shown
Rockstar's launch trailer page shows the game's ESRB rating: Mature 17+. The content descriptors listed are:
- Blood and Gore
- Intense Violence
- Mature Humor
- Nudity
- Strong Language
- Strong Sexual Content
- Use of Drugs and Alcohol
The page also lists "In-Game Purchases" as an interactive element. That is the ESRB's standard label, not a description of what will be on sale. The ESRB rating guide explains what each descriptor means.
Where it sits in the timeline
The launch trailer page lists Rockstar's earlier videos alongside it. In order:
- Trailer 1: December 4, 2023 (1:31).
- Trailer 2: May 6, 2025 (2:47). See the Trailer 2 breakdown.
- An Extended Look: August 27, 2026 (26:48).
- Launch Trailer: October 15, 2026 (1:30).
- Release: November 19, 2026.
So the Launch Trailer is the shortest of the four and came out about five weeks before the game. For the date in your time zone and how it got here, see the release date guide.
Not confirmed yet
- A scene-by-scene list. Rockstar's pages and the video description do not describe the shots, so this guide does not either.
- Who speaks the Army line and the "Are we gonna be okay?" line. The captions don't name the speakers.
- Where "Flower in a Hurricane" plays in the game, or a full track list for The Album.
- Any detail from leaks, datamined files or fan theories. This page does not repeat them.
Wrap-up
The Launch Trailer is short and mostly about mood. The confirmed parts are the date, the new song from Justice and friends, three lines of dialogue, the PS5 tag and the ESRB rating. The game itself follows on November 19, 2026.
